to mark its 10th anniversary, the band Disturbed is releasing a documentary called "Decade of Disturbed." the 75-minute film will be screened at 9 p.m. Friday at Peoria Theater, Independent Film and Event Center, 3225 N. Dries Lane.

the band will release its fifth studio album, "Asylum," on Aug. 31.

the film, directed by Rafa Alcantara, captures the band's 10-year history, with behind-the-scenes footage.

"it basically tells the story of the band, from its inception to present day," Disturbed frontman David Draiman is quoted as saying. "the band has had its share of ups and downs along the way and I think we tried to be as open and honest about all of it as we could. It's very insightful, and we hope it's something the fans will appreciate."

Apollo to screen 'Amadeus'

Apollo Theatre, 311 Main St., will screen the 1984 film "Amadeus" at 7 p.m. Saturday.

the movie is filmmaker Milos Forman's drama about composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. it was nominated for 11 Academy Awards, and won in eight categories, including best Actor for F. Murray Abraham, best Screenplay, best Director and best Picture.

told in flashback by Antonio Salieri (Abraham), now confined to an insane asylum, the plot recounts Mozart's rise to success and Salieri's jealousy. Salieri thinks Mozart's music is divine but can't understand why God favored Mozart, a vulgar man, to be his instrument. Salieri's envy has made him unstable, a fellow composer thinking of revenge.

the movie co-stars Tom Hulce as Mozart and features Christine Ebersole, Jeffrey Jones, Kenny Baker and Cynthia Nixon.
