'Last Call with Carson Daly' renewed for season 10 after surviving possible cancellation | OnTheRedCarpet.com

"I really feel that Last call has hit its stride," Daly, 37, said in a statement carried by The Hollywood Reporter. "It took 10 years, but it feels brand new and great."

Meanwhile, NBC is searching for people to work on Last call with Carson Daily. Online ads for a researcher, editor, post production supervisor, executive assistant and videographer have been posted, although it is unclear if the positions are newly-created or if they were posted to replace departing employees. The network has not commented on the postings.

Daly, a Los Angeles native who has dated actress Jennifer Love Hewitt and was once engaged to Tara Reid, has a 1-year-old son named Jackson with girlfriend Siri Pinter.

Daily hosted MTV's Total Request Live and a radio show before he was chosen to head Last call with Carson Daily, which is mostly filmed in Los Angeles and was once shot in New York on the same set as sketch comedy series Saturday Night Live.

He also voiced a character in the animated television movie Daria: Is It Fall Yet? and played himself in the films Josie and the Pussycats in 2001 and in the cult Comedy Central movie Windy City Heat.

Last year, Conan O'Brien succeeded Jay Leno as The Tonight Show host for seven months, during which Leno hosted a new talk program that aired before his. Following lackluster ratings and local affiliate disagreements, NBC had proposed that both programs, as well as Jimmy Fallon's talk show, be moved to later.

Network chairman Jeff Gaspin had told the associated Press that the plan would likely mark the end of Last call with Carson Daily. however,O'Brien declined NBC's proposal and left the network. The time slots of the shows remained unchanged and Leno, who hosted The Tonight Show between 1992 and 2009, regained the position in March.

O'Brien has since embarked on a comedy tour and is set to host a new late-night talk program, which premieres at 11 p.m. on November 8 on TBS before George Lopez's show, which is scheduled to move to midnight.

Lopez had said in March that he missed seeing O'Brien on television and TBS said in a statement announcing O'Brien's new show, set to air Monday through Thursday, that Lopez had personally called him to ask that he consider joining the network’s late-night line-up.
