Haley Reinhart was desperate to impress the American Idol panel on last night's show and started out with a stunning vocal performance when she launched into her rendition of Led Zeppelin's classic track "what is and what Should Never Be". She seemed even more confident than usual, because her dad was one of the guitarists that accompanied her on stage.

What a shame then, that she tripped as she walked away from the judges table, only saving herself from landing on her pretty face, by putting her hands out to steady herself at the last second.

Ever the professional, and proving that she can cope with any setback, the 20 year old singer from Illinois quickly stood up and finished her song as if nothing untoward had happened.

Joking about her stumble afterwards, Steven Tyler joked:

"Would you fall for me?" Adding, "It's not about the fall it's how you get up."

Jennifer Lopez then praised her, saying:

"I've fallen, Beyonce's fallen … you keep going. It's a sign of a professional who knows what they're doing."

Randy Jackson thought the whole thing was supposed to happen and laughed:

"I thought it was planned." on Haley's overall performance, he added:

"This is what it is all about."

Watch Hayley's video below and let us know, did you like the performance?
