Celebrities often talk about their favorite charities, but have you ever wondered what it is like for the other side? I recently had the chance to talk to Danian Rios, President of Arm The Animals, a clothing company/charity that supports the well being of animals. he was nice enough to talk to me about the charity, the celebrities involved and how you can help them out!

Tell me about your organization.- We are a clothing company geared toward the wellness of animals and a portion of our proceeds go to animal rescues.

How did you get started? –Arm The Animals was conceptualized by one of my best friends and business partner Matt Heinemeyer. ATA was inspired by the passing of his older sister Karen, who was a huge animal lover and had 12 rescues when she passed in 2008. Matt wanted to do something in her memory and Arm The Animals was born. with the help of my brother Rigo Diaz, Matt and I officially launched ATA in January of this year.

What do you hope to achieve? – We hope to be able to provide some much needed assistance to struggling and underfunded animal rescues.

What celebrities are involved? – Celebrities that have been seen wearing our shirts are Shannon Elizabeth, Ashley Green, Shiloh Fernandez, Taylor Kinney and Shanna Moakler to name a few.

How did they get involved? – one of our good friends, partner and actor Travis Aaron Wade has a long list of friends in the industry. he has been able to reach out to some of his friends and tell them about ATA. Most have been very receptive to the cause, design and quality of the shirts.

What are some short term goals? – to continue to gain traction, raise funds for rescues and continue to raise awareness.

Long term goals?- We would like to continue to grow as a company and someday open an Arm The Animals rescue in honor of Karen.

How can people get involved? People can get involved by simply helping us spread the word about our cause and brand. They can also contact their local rescues to see if they are in need of assistance. there is no shortage of rescues in need of support. these rescues are owned by good people doing hard and selfless work. Anything that people would be willing to do would be helpful.

What is one thing you want the public to know about your organization?- We love what we are doing and we have the best intentions. We hope that people can find the humor and irony in our designs.
