Arrest made in Rock Hill club shooting
ROCK HILL Police have arrested Rock Hill man in connection with a shooting outside Rock Hill's Odyssey nightclub following a New Year's Eve event.
Freddie Antwan Thompson, 20, of 1208 Green St. Extension, has been arrested and charged in connection with the early fight and subsequent shooting of two men outside the Wilson Street club, according to Rock Hill police documents.
Thompson has been charged with attempted murder in connection with the shooting of 22-year-old Marquis White Jan. 1. White was shot in the abdomen. Police reports say he was standing in the road when he got shot, the report states.
Thompson also faces two weapons violation and was charged with having a weapon into a place where alcohol is sold.
Police were alerted by Piedmont Medical Center that another man, Eugene Lamont White, 31, of Rock Hill reported being shot at the club.
A fight erupted inside the club during New Years celebrations that moved outside, the report states. Police are still investigating the circumstances of the shooting.
Eugene White was released from the hospital and served with outstanding warrants in an unrelated case. Marquis White was last listed in stable condition.
Thompson is being held at the Moss Justice Center, where his bond has been denied.
