Don't Turn Into Twilight, True Blood
True Blood, Don't Turn Into Twilight
Tomorrow sees the premiere of the third season of HBO’s hit True Blood. In the clip above, Alexander Skarsgård (who plays Eric Northman on the show, a viking who became a vampire a thousand years ago) talks about what is going to happen next to his character. I look forward to new episodes, but can’t help feeling less than excited. True Blood is a perfectly respectable achievement by Alan Ball, but nowhere as involving and thoughtful as his Six Feet Under.
I hate making comparisons between those shows, but True Blood needs to shape up. The trailers for the third season are showing alarming signs of the show developing into something closer to the Twilight franchise… and we don’t want that, do we? If it grows into a story about Sookie (Anna Paquin) being forced to choose between the good bloodsucker (Stephen Moyer) and the bad one (Skarsgård), and the showrunners don’t even have the decency to introduce something else on the show that could pique our interest… then there is no reason to make a fourth season.

I know… I am afraid of the same. I love the fact that vampires are trying to have the same rights as the living (ie…1960's). it was totally new and never done before. Now they have a werewolf thing going on and I am afraid that it will be a close comparison to "Twilight". I just hope they do not go to mainstream~~ Thank you
P.S.–I hope they blow our socks off!!!
