The guy is physically gifted for an NFL QB. He is the perfect size and has the strength to dominate at the position. If Russell becomes a true leader by putting in the hours and training to be great the AFC West will be in trouble.

The Oakland Raiders 2009 season is 100% on JaMarcus Russell's shoulders at this point. He knows he has to compete in 2009, so do all the fans and people in the media. He put together a private and voluntary passing camp with his receivers this off season. He even paid for their flights out to Alabama for the camp. Setting up the off season private camp shows desire to win in 2009. It's a huge step forward for Russell and leading the Raiders to victory. JaMarcus Russell is a competitor and wants to win. He has better tutelage in 2009 and should truly shine despite what a lot of negative media is saying about him this off season. Most of the haters in the media have no idea about the Oakland Raiders. They have no idea about the AFC West in general.

The Oakland Raiders have a very tough start to the 2009 season. If he plays to his potential it should go very well for the Oakland Raiders and all of the Raider Nation.
