The Oklahoma City Thunder are the most exciting young team in basketball. Yes, I'm talking about the 23-59 team that finished with the third worst record in pro basketball last season.

I love the youth on the Oklahoma City Thunder, and believe that within about two to three years' time, this will be an exceptionally dangerous team, assuming its nucleus stays in place.

Kevin Durant is an emerging superstar. Scratch that. Kevin Durant already is a superstar. He simply plays for the Oklahoma City Thunder, so no one really recognizes him for the talent that he is. How many Thunder games do you see broadcast on TNT or ESPN? It doesn't happen, but it really should, because the kid is simply that good.

The Durant vs. Oden debate was so prevalent two years ago, and so many people felt that Oden would prove to be the more valuable player. So far, it's looking like the Blazers are probably kicking themselves.

Now I'm going to go out on a limb and make a prediction. Kevin Durant will win the NBA scoring title in 09-10. I firmly believe this. Having increased his average from 20+ points per game to 25+ points per game, I believe he'll end up in the high 20s (if not low 30s) this season, and will win the scoring title.

The Oklahoma City Thunder have many other talents in place, but 09-10 will be the year of Kevin Durant. Regardless of this team's record, they'll be an exciting young team to watch.
