RockMelt download is available for those who want to try out a new web browser that integrates social networking on a new level. according to MercuryNews.com, the Mountain View startup by Marc Andreessen released a beta version of the browser Sunday, allowing user data to be saved to the "cloud," allowing them to get the same browsing experience on both work and home computers.

"We're reinventing the browser for how people use the Web today," said Eric Vishria, RockMelt's co-founder and CEO.

Users first sign into the browser using their Facebook username and password, allowing RockMelt to save those settings on remote servers in the cloud, whereby social networking features will be incorporated into the browsing experience.

This is different from the standard browser in that RockMelt includes two columns of buttons on the edges of the main browser page. those on the left are thumbnail pictures of users' self-selected favorite Facebook friends. Access to Facebook is gained through the browser itself. those on the right of the browser are links to news feeds from Web sites such as Facebook, Twitter, or news outlets like The new York Times.

According to MercuryNews.com, RockMelt is posing some competition to other Web browsers such as Firefox.

Have you tried the new Web browser?
