Ryan Gosling's Totally Up For A 'Hey Girl' Television Series — Let's Make It Happen, Hollywood!
Not long ago, MTV News sat down with actor/man-of-my-dreams Ryan Gosling for an in-depth, wide-ranging discussion regarding the art of film-making, method acting, and most importantly, the Internet meme "F— Yeah! Ryan Gosling." the "Blue Valentine" star—who we should note was totally aware of the nonsense missives even before we brought them to his attention—was good-humored and self-deprecating enough to recite some of the hilarious "Hey Girl" notes with his own added commentary (ex: "I'm in some kind of 'Star Trek' jacket. I don't know why I have that."). Not surprisingly, our Ryan-loving hearts just couldn't leave well enough alone, so when we ran into mr. Gosling at the Weinstein Company Golden Globes after party, we just had to relive the moment.
When our own Josh Horowitz asked Ryan about the possibility of a weekly "Hey Girl" television series, Ryan thought it sounded like a wonderful idea.
"Yeah, I'm in," he said with a grin. "I'll do it."
For old time's sake, Josh then asked Ryan to concoct his own "Hey Girl" on the spot. in Ryan's defense, thinking up one of those deliciously odd ball captions on cue (and without the benefit of photographic inspiration) is pretty difficult. so you can hardly blame Ryan for what he came up with: "Hey Girl, I'm on the red carpet." Well, it's…succinct. Thankfully, Ryan gave Josh a taste of his own medicine, forcing him to dream up his own version.
"Hey Girl, I'm with Ryan Gosling and Derek and they've got an awesome movie," Josh improvised.
"You didn't commit," Ryan scolded. "It wasn't, like, sleazy enough."
"I rely on you for that stuff," Josh shot back.
"Thank you," Ryan replied.
And that is why we love him.
