Selena Gomez to Visit the Congo: Should Justin Bieber go With Her?

Selena Gomez is going to visit the Congo! So should she bring Justin Bieber with her on her latest humanitarian mission?

She's turning into quite the little Angelina Jolie. Selena recently held a concert to raise money for UNICEF, and she's taken trips to Ghana and Chile in the past. Both of those humanitarian missions were meant to get her prepared for a trip to the Democratic Republic of Congo, a country experiencing a brutal civil conflict.

Violent armed gangs use rape as a weapon of war there, and thousands of women have been brutalized. Last year, Angelina visited the country to attend the trial of a Congolese warlord accused of recruiting children as soldiers. In short, the Congo is a difficult place to be.

ImageThis is why Selena Gomez might want to consider bringing Justin Bieber along with her when she goes there in April – it might make her stay more comfortable if she has someone she loves with her. Selena told E! News that she got the idea to go on the trip from Joel Madden, who works with UNICEF. He's been to the Congo before and considers it the best thing he's ever done in his life.

There's no word yet on what all Selena will do while visiting, but she'll probably do something that involves helping women and children there — in the past she's helped raise awareness about the horrific sexual violence that runs rampant in the country.

Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber could be well on their way to becoming the next Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt if they keep up all the good humanitarian work. Angelina decided to adopt her first child because her world travels showed her how many children in need are out there, so who knows? Maybe visiting places like the Congo will have the same effect on Selena.

So what do you think – will she and the Biebs become the next Brangelina by traveling the world and adopting kids?
