Vanessa Hudgens and Josh Hutcherson, the young stars of Journey 2: The Mysterious Island (and rumoured ex-couple), were on hand for the film’s world premiere in Melbourne last night. Excited fans lined the red carpet at Jam Factory in South Yarra for a glimpse of the actors, who will also attend a premiere in Sydney last night. Vanessa told reporters that she has a personal connection to Australia: “My best friend is actually from here, and I really love the place.” She also said that the big drawcard for her to do the movie was the opportunity to work with Michael Caine. Meanwhile, Josh is gearing up for the release of his much-anticipated blockbuster The Hunger Games, in which he stars opposite Jennifer Lawrence and Aussie Liam Hemsworth.
