'Wolf-gang! Wolf-gang!': Mozart Opera at Cowboys Stadium
It will be Sarastro's host versus the Queen of the Night and her minions at Cowboys Stadium. The stadium, the home of the Dallas Cowboys, will open its gates for a free simulcast of Mozart's "Magic Flute" on April 28, the Dallas Opera and the football team said on Thursday. In a statement, the Cowboys' executive vice president for brand management, Charlotte Anderson, called it a "distinctive event." Dallas Opera's general director, Keith Cerny, called it a "game-changing" collaboration. The production comes from the Lyric Opera of Chicago. Officials said the opera would be shown on the "world's largest high-definition video board structure," which consists of four screens suspended over the field. The largest, according to the statement is 72 feet tall and 160 feet wide. There was no mention of cheerleaders or whether missed notes would be subject to instant-replay review.
