Charlize Theron has been busy promoting her new film "Young Adult" alongside co-stars Patrick Wilson and Patton Oswalt. While city-hopping on her media tour, she managed to make her way onto just about everyone's weekly best-dressed list.

Recent laudable looks included a nude and black Antonio Berardi dress with Tom Ford heels that Theron wore to an appearance on "The Late Show With David Letterman" (it made Vogue's weekly 10 best-dressed list) and a black-and-white Gucci dress with plunging neckline worn with a Jennifer Behr headband at the Gotham Independent Film Awards (Instyle best dressed).

Maybe it's her flawless face or her 5-foot-10-inch frame that allows her to add a touch of movie-star glamour to everything she wears. Whether the South Africa native is in a floor-length Oscar gown or a pair of slouchy jeans and a tee, she manages to look elegant.

At a recent appearance for "Young Adult," Theron was photographed in a pair of drop-crotch pleated-waist pants, a nude lace blouse and simple cardigan. It was far from red-carpet attire, but still chic as ever. She accessorized with a delicate layered necklace and finished the look with lace-up booties.

Tom Cruise hit the red carpet for the NYC premiere of Mission: Impossible — Ghost Protocol in a sexy dark suit. He's been travelling around the world with co-stars Paula Patton and Simon Pegg to promote the action film, and now the trio are showing off their exciting project in the Big Apple, this time with Jeremy Renner. Tom also had wife Katie Holmes by his side today, and she looked gorgeous in a sheer short dress.

Tom's MI4 arrived in cinemas last week, but his release isn't the only big news for the Holmes-Cruise family. Katie celebrated her 33rd birthday over the weekend and spent the day with Tom and their daughter Suri. She was back out in the city for brunch with a friend at Bubby's earlier today while Tom prepped for an appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman.

Hey there, I'm Karli Bulnes. Matt Damon is back at it, channeling fellow Hollywood heartthrob Matthew McConaughey. Hear his spot on impersonation in PopSugar Rush.

"Well if it stays balmy like this, on Christmas Eve I was thinking I would head over to your place and we could take our shirts off."

It's Matt impersonating Matthew again! Mr. Damon visited The Late Show With David Letterman Tuesday, where he broke out his uncanny impression of Matthew McConaughey. The We Bought a Zoo star first unveiled his talent for taking on the famous Texan's southern drawl in 2006 during a stop at the late night talk show:

"Today's scene I think would be a good opportunity to take my shirt off."

Since then, David has urged Mr. Damon to delight the audience with his accent whenever he's a guest on the show.

"I was thinking maybe later you and me after we took our shirts off could maybe email each other some pictures of our penises."

Matt has said that he and Matthew knew each other before either one of them had made it in Hollywood and all his references to Matthew's shirtlessness is all in good fun.

Last night Occupy LA was shut down as part of a coordinated national government effort that included Philadelphia and several other cities. LAist, KCET, and the LA Times provided some great coverage online and TV outlets like KTLA, KCAL, and ABC 7 provided TV imagery if you chose to follow along that way as well. [There was a report that another LA-based CBS affiliate chose to run a rerun of "The Late Show With David Letterman" instead of the CBS feed of the event - can anyone confirm this?] It was easy to get a more complete picture of what was actually happening by running UStream feeds (I had four going) from protestors and citizen journalists on the ground both inside the park under siege and from its immediate vicinity.

It was easy to debunk the hype from TV reporters as well as the posturing by police by going to the view of a handheld camera or cell phone in a part of the park that they were referring to. When one LAPD officer said "Things are going to get dangerous very soon" at a particular corner because of protestors who "needed to calm down" you could see from a UStream view that protesters in that area were seated peacefully. On the whole, both protestors and the LAPD acted with composure with protestors not giving cause for violence and police implying that they could respond with violence at will.

Legal wrangling will enter a frenzy as courts will determine if LAPD violated laws protecting peaceful assembly as well as restricting the movement of the press and citizen reporters. Los Angeles Mayor Villaraigosa, whom it is reported to have never spoken to protestors in the 60+ day event, will also be called to task on his complicity with the Department of Homeland Security and other Federal government agencies whom also may have broken laws protecting free speech and freedom of assembly. This was an expensive night that will continue to rack up bills for quite some time to come, with a balance that will show that it would have been less expensive for the city to have allowed the peaceful protest to continue.

An additional opinion I have is that if you are a journalist or media outlet based in LA and you weren't on site or following along to get the word out of this event to the world you are a failure and embarrassment and should go wait some tables. Expecting a nice novel or at least entertaining chick lit I bought the book he's just not that into you. The front showed an image of the movie's top cast like Jennifer Aniston, Drew Barrymore and Ben Affleck.

I was disappointed that it turned out to be a self-help book. No nice story line, with an and they live happily ever after plot. But after reading the introduction I was intrigued. The stories told are so recognizable from own experience and from friends. And more important it is very funny. It gave me more than once a smile on my face

About the book

The book is designed to stop women wasting their time chasing after men who aren't into them, and help them to move on and find men who really are. It focuses on empowering women to say Hey, I'm worth more than this and I'm not going to settle The line, 'He's just not that into you', was developed out of a conversation between Greg Behrendt and his fellow female SATC writers when they asked his advice one day. The book contains short stories of women and the answer of Greg, which is most of the time He is just not that into you. Move on The stories are complemented with short exercises to apply the concept to your own situation.

About the authors

Greg Behrendt is a standup comic first and foremost. His comedy resume features HBO's Mantastic, Comedy Central Presents and last year's Uncool, seen exclusively on Comedy Central, as well as many appearances on late night shows like The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The Late Show with David Letterman and Late Night with Conan O'Brien.

Liz Tuccillo is an American writer and actress best known for her work on the HBO comedy series Sex and the City and for co-authoring (with Greg Behrendt) the self-help book He's Just Not That Into You. Her first novel, How to Be Single, was published in June 2008

What to learn from this book?

What I took away from this book is that life is too short to hope for things that aren't meant to happen. Many great things pass us by because we're too busy worrying about getting something or someone that just wasn't meant to be.

The concept is not only applicable for relationships. It can be applied to everything in life like in business, jobs, material possessions, etc. When love or money or other things we want don't come to us, it's easier emotionally to justify and/or make excuses as to why we're not getting what we feel we deserve when we want it. The power of this book is that it tells you that you are the only one who will suffer if you continue to cling to something that wasn't meant to be. Just move on. Follow your heart. And aim for the thing you want and don't settle for less.

With the tenth anniversary of 9/11 just days away, the New York-based talk show host on Wednesday welcomed Sergeant 1st Class Leroy Petry — one of only two servicemen to Medal of Honor for their service in Afghanistan — to describe the selfless moments that earned him the prestigious honor July 12 from President Barack Obama.

The Santa Fe, New Mexico-born Petry — one of 84 living recipients of the honor — said he was in pre-Ranger training on the morning of September 11, 2001 and remembered asking his instructors if he could watch the unfolding events that day.

His instructors would fatefully tell him, "You need to get your butts back in there and keep training — you might be going to war soon."

Petry told Letterman he was first deployed to Afghanistan in 2002, with the tough task of rounding up high-value targets (high-ranking enemy suspects).

"It's usually capture-kill …  you try to do the best to capture them but normally, the targets we go after are hostile and have a lot of firepower with them … it gets pretty nasty," Petry said.

Petry told Letterman military men need to be able to adjust as "there are no easy missions," which moved the talk show host, who said the quote would stick with him for the rest of his life.

"I guess in war," Letterman said, "there are no slow days."

"It's a risk every day you're over there," Petry said.

Petry described to Letterman, in detail, the circumstances behind the May 26, 2008 combat mission in which he lost his right hand but continued to lead the troops.

Petry said that about 65 troops were on the mission to invade a compound, and they began under fire from two enemies with AK-47s from the moment it began. Within moments, he said, shots struck him and a fellow soldier. Hiding behind a chicken coop, he said he thought he'd only been shot in his leg, though he found out later out the bullet had penetrated both of his thighs.

In addition to the storm of gunfire, both sides began exchanging grenades, Petry said, noting that despite his injuries, he kept his cool and remained on his radio communicating with his commanders.

“At that point, I turn to check on my guys, and I see pineapple grenades … I immediately knew what I had to do — I grabbed it to get it away from me and my guys,” Petry said. “As I was throwing it, my hand opened up, and it completely amputated the hand at the wrist.”

Petry said he could see his radius and ulna poking out of his wrist “about a quarter of an inch,” at which point he put on a tourniquet and continued corresponding with his commanders.

Despite losing his hand in the firefight, Petry said he considered the mission a successful one.

After the amazing tale of bravery, Petry showed the talk show host his state-of-the-art prosthetic hand, which he described as “pretty much like a normal hand.

“It works off the same muscles I’d use to open and close my hand,” he said.

“That’s amazing for an amazing man,” Letterman said.

It was a big day for the courageous military man, who also took the mound at Yankees Stadium to throw out the ceremonial first pitch on Wednesday.

Letterman asked Petry, a father-of-four, how he'd feel if one of his children came to him and told him they'd like to be in the military.

"I'd be honored to have my child to serve in the military," Petry said. "My youngest, he's gonna be a ranger."

Samuel L. Jackson visited CBS' Late Show With David Letterman on Thursday night, where he read a passage from bestselling bawdy kids' book Go the F–k to Sleep.

Jackson narrates the audiobook version, which already has become an Internet sensation.

The book includes such lines as "The eagles who soar through the sky are at rest, and the creatures who crawl, run and creep. I know you're not thirsty. That's [bleep]. Stop lying. Lie the [bleep] down, my darling, and sleep."

Go the F–k to Sleep started out as a joke in a Facebook post by author Adam Mansbach when he could not get his daughter to fall asleep. His friends loved the fake title so much he decided to turn it into a real nursery rhyme-style book with illustrations by his friend Ricardo Cortes.

It debuted this week at No. 1 on the New York Times bestseller list for advice books. A G-rated version of the book also is in the works, according to Johnny Temple, the owner and publisher of Akashic Books.

Rush Limbaugh is noted American radio host, television personality and political commentator and an author. He was born in Missouri on 12th January 1951 to Mildred Carolyn "Millie" and Rush Hudson Limbaugh, Jr., and was named Rush Hudson Limbaugh III.

He attended the Cape Girardeau, Missouri Central High School and graduated in 1969. Later he attended college but dropped out. He had begun his career in radio as a teenager in the name of Rusty Sharpe. He later went on to join WIXZ, a small AM radio station in Pittsburgh and worked as a disc jockey. He worked in many music radios for a decade before settling in Kansas City. He quit radio in 1979 and worked with the Kansas City Royals baseball team as director of promotions. But after few years he moved to California and started working for the radio station KFBK as a talk show host. It was during this time that former ABC Radio President Edward F. McLaughlin noticed him and Limbaugh moved to New York entering the national radio show. He gained many listeners with his unique style and his popularity rose during the Persian Gulf War. His show was then aired on 650 radio stations nationwide.

His show "The Rush Limbaugh Show" is aired on Premiere Radio Networks. It is the highest rated radio talk show in the United States. The format of this show has remained unchanged since its inception in 1988. The show mainly focuses on his conservative political analysis. He owns majority of the show and reportedly was said to have signed an eight-year contract at the rate of $31.25 million a year. Limbaugh is reported to have extended the contract until 2016 for $400 million which is a record for any broadcast.

He also worked as a commentator with ESPN in 2003. His first appearance in television was as a guest host in the late night talk show "The Pat Sajak Show". He later appeared in the "The Late Show with David Letterman". He also did guest appearances in shows like "Hearts Afire" and "The Drew Carey Show". From 1992 through 1996 he had syndicated television show that basically discussed many of the topics on his radio show but in front of an audience.

He also published two books "The Way Things Ought to Be" (1992) and "See, I Told You So" (1993) both of which were featured among the New York Times bestseller list.
